A note on scope: This policy covers two different things that deserve to be described separately — the MyPhotoLog Pro iOS app, and the myphotologpro.app website. The app is genuinely zero-collection. The website collects a small, specific set of data, described in Website Data We Collect.
At MyPhotoLog Pro, we believe your data belongs to you. We've built the app from the ground up with a privacy-first philosophy. This means the app doesn't collect, transmit, or store any of your personal information on our servers — there is no account to create, no login, and no sync service.
Unlike many apps, the MyPhotoLog Pro iOS app does NOT collect:
This list describes the app only. If you have used the Notify Me form on this website, we do hold the name and email address you submitted there — see Website Data We Collect.
Local Storage: All your photos, location data, tags, and descriptions are stored exclusively on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share it.
Optional iCloud Backup: If you enable iCloud backup in Settings, your data is stored in your personal iCloud Drive account. This is a direct connection between your device and your iCloud account - we never have access to this data. You can disable iCloud backup at any time.
You Control All Sharing: The only way your data is shared is when you explicitly choose to export or share photos using the app's sharing features:
The MyPhotoLog Pro iOS app does NOT use:
The app talks to Apple's iCloud (only if you enable backup, and only within your own account), to your chosen navigation app when you tap Navigate, and — only if you switch it on — to the elevation service described below. Nothing else.
MyPhotoLog Pro calculates sun, moon, and Milky Way data entirely on your device. One optional feature is the exception.
If you turn on Look Up Elevation Online in Settings → Data & Sharing, the latitude and longitude of a location you open are sent to open-elevation.com to retrieve that spot's ground elevation. This setting is off by default.
Only the coordinates are sent. No photos, names, notes, tags, device identifiers, or personal information are included, and nothing sent identifies you or your device. The coordinates are used solely to return an elevation value for that request. Each location is looked up at most once — the result is saved on your device, so the same coordinates are never sent again. You can turn the setting off at any time.
open-elevation.com is operated independently and is not controlled by us.
Important distinction: Everything above describes the iOS app. This website (myphotologpro.app) is separate, and it does collect a limited amount of data. Here is all of it.
If you submit the "Notify Me" form, we collect and store:
That information is processed by a Cloudflare Worker we operate, recorded in a private Google Sheet, and emailed to us as a notification. It is stored so we can email you once — when MyPhotoLog Pro is available on the App Store.
We will not sell, rent, or share your email address with anyone, and we won't add you to a marketing list or send you unrelated messages. If you'd like your details removed before launch, email [email protected] and we'll delete them.
Submitting this form is entirely optional. Nothing on this site requires it, and the app itself never asks for it.
We use two lightweight analytics tools to understand which pages people visit and where visitors come from:
These record aggregate page-view data such as which page was viewed, the referring site, general geographic region, browser, and device type. We use them to see whether the site is useful, not to build a profile of you. We do not run advertising networks, retargeting pixels, or social media trackers on this site.
MyPhotoLog Pro uses iOS Location Services only to:
This location data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. The single exception is the optional elevation lookup, which is off by default and, when you switch it on, sends only bare coordinates to a third-party elevation service.
MyPhotoLog Pro is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple may collect information about your download and purchase, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to this information.
The MyPhotoLog Pro app collects no information from anyone, including children under 13, which makes it safe for users of all ages. The website's Notify Me form is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 through it. If you believe a child has submitted their details to us, email [email protected] and we will delete them.
If we update this Privacy Policy, we will post the new policy on this page and update the "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to check back periodically. If we make a material change to how we handle launch signup data, we will email the address you provided.
For your app data: everything is stored on your device, so:
For launch signup data: if you submitted the Notify Me form, you have the right to ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Email [email protected] and we'll action the request. We won't ask you for a reason.

MyPhotoLog Pro complies with:
For the app, compliance is simple: it collects no personal data, so there is nothing to protect beyond what's already on your device under your control. For the website, the only personal data we hold is what you voluntarily submitted through the Notify Me form, and you can have it corrected or deleted at any time by emailing us. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under the CCPA.
